I played at a poker tournament at Binion's last sunday, one of the delaers was off shift and playing in it. I noticed him and a few others just toss the chips into the pile, they let them fly in the air and bounce and smack somewhere around the pot.

Others of us, like me, put the chips in a neat pile and push them in so it is easy for everyone to see what I've put out and to make things easier on the dealer.

Anyone here just whip the chips into the pot like that?!

I am surprised a dealer would do that and just as surprised a dealer would allow it to happen. At the very least it is poor etiquette.

You should never splash the pot. Bad table manors indeed. I'm surprised they allow off-duty dealers to even play. At the Indiana boats I go to sometimes employees of any kind are not allowed to gamble even on thier days off. This includes janitors, food service workers, security guards, ect..not alone dealers.

Great responses you guys. It was also a 70$ Buy in.

But it was Binion's of all places. That's what bugged me most.

This guy was a dickhead, when it was down to the final two he also tried to con the other remaining player into splitting the prize money even, rather to play for the top prize. You wouldnt believe the arguement that erupted.

At the Rx tourney, I had lightly tossed in a bet, being seated farthest for the pot, and the chips took a bit of a jump. I thought about it and realized people might have see it in a different way (as being rude or something) so now, no matter how far I am, I will gentle push them in and the dealer can do his job and get them.
